Sheet Metal Fabricator - Brake Press Operator

Overview

• Location: Bishops Stortford (just outside, rural location)
• Pay: £16 - £21 per hour (depending on experience)
• Full Time - Monday-Friday - 8 hours between 7 am and 5 pm (40 hour week)

We're working with a fast-growing specialist façade contractor based in Hertfordshire, known for their quality work on some of London's most iconic buildings. Right now, they're on the lookout for a Sheet Metal Fabricator with brake press experience to join their factory team near Bishops Stortford (SG11).

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating brake press and CNC machines
• Reading technical drawings and fabricating precision components
• Loading materials, carrying out quality checks, and packing finished items
• Working closely with a friendly team to meet daily production goals
• Supporting with general factory tasks when needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience with brake press machines and sheet metal work
• Confident reading engineering or CAD drawings
• Hands-on, reliable, and detail-focused
• Able to carry out physical work safely and accurately
• A good team player with your own transport (location is not on public transport routes)

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

• Forklift licence
• First-aid certificate
• Experience with CNC laser cutters or turret punches
