A leading NHS Trust in Derbyshire is seeking a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Blood Sciences department. The role involves processing and validating patient specimens, reporting blood film morphology, and monitoring blood stocks. Candidates need to work flexibly in a 24/7 shift system. The Chesterfield site of Derbyshire Pathology is looking for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist or Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join us working in the busy Haematology and Blood Transfusion departments within the Blood Sciences department.
The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly to ensure service provision while helping to deliver technical excellence with enthusiasm, attention to detail and professional, can-do attitude.
We have full UKAS ISO15189:2022 accreditation and we are also accredited with the IBMS as a training laboratory for registration and specialist portfolios.

The successful candidate will be trained, and competency assessed to join the 24/7 shift system undertaking early, late, day, night, weekend and bank holiday shifts. Therefore the ability to work autonomously for long periods of time as part of the 24/7 shift rota is essential.
