Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard).

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Bank BMS .

Our laboratory operates a 24 / 7 service , and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in all shift patterns as allocated by the Pathology Lead to meet the service requirements. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering a professional and technical laboratory service, working effectively as part of a team while also performing routine analyses independently, with support from the Pathology Lead as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Haematology, Coagulation, Biochemistry, Immunoassay, and Blood Transfusion tests accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor quality control programs and assist with stock management.
  • Maintain turnaround times (TAT), morphology, and cross-matching.
  • Handle NHSBT referrals and provide component support for Major Haemorrhages.
