We are excited to offer a 12-month FTC opportunity for an experienced, HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist in Molecular Dagnostics. If you have at least 3 years of experience, this could be the fresh start you’re looking for as we head into 2026!

Main duties and responsibilities
- Booking in clinical samples
- Running clinical laboratory procedures to assist the Clinical Team with improved efficiency
- Referring clinical samples to external laboratories where relevant
- Routine laboratory housekeeping duties
- Monthly stock checks
- Routine maintenance of instruments and systems
- Maintain up to date knowledge in the relevant areas of clinical biology and recent diagnostic developments
- Authorising clinical reports for dispatch to customers.
- Contributing to the QMS in the form of updating and reviewing controlled documents, reporting on performance of the services, attending and providing training.
- Other duties as reasonably requested with regards to the functioning of the clinical laboratory.
Qualifications
- BSc in Biomedical science or equivalent
- HCPC Registered
- Molecular diagnostics skills including PCR, nucleic acid extraction and RNA handling
- Experience of clinical diagnostics, human genetics, biochemistry and/or clinical microbiology
- Previous experience of working within an accredited clinical laboratory and familiarity with quality and regulatory standards
- Computer literate
- Self-motivated, good communication skills and a team player
Additional Information
Working Days: This is a 12-month fixed term contract, 37.5 hours over 5 days between Monday and Saturday
Salary: Up to £32,000 depending on experience
