Job description
Overview

Applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in Routine Histology; IHC/Specials;, Digital and microscopy QC and be comfortable trouble shooting and resolving technical issues. Familiarisation with automated IHC machines and molecular techniques is desirable as the department has a variety of platforms in use. Full training and support is available. A dedicated mentor will be provided while undertaking training and undergoing competency assessment. Participation with staff and team development is actively encouraged at the Band 5 level, as our Band 5's are expected to support training and competency assessment of the Associate practitioners and Medical Laboratory Assistant staff. Familiarisation and understanding of ISO 15189 standards, Health & Safety requirements; audit and training/education techniques is desirable.

Histopathology are looking for a registered Biomedical Scientist, who should be proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and have excellent communication/organisational skills. This post represents an excellent opportunity to extend skills and knowledge in Histology inclusive of A-C category dissection, as well as in digital Pathology, across a service Monday - Saturday.
