Job summary

An international law firm is seeking a Billing Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term contract in their London office. The role requires previous administrative experience, preferably in a law firm, and good mathematical skills. Responsibilities include managing the billing process, liaising with fee earners, and resolving queries. Offering a salary of up to £40,000 with hybrid working arrangements of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home that include 25 days annual leave and additional benefits.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience, preferably gained within a law firm or similar role, is essential.
  • Five GCSEs including Maths and English at level C or above.
  • Good mathematical skills, comfortable working with numbers.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable working with different systems.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the billing process and systems in conjunction with the Accounts team and members of the IP team.
  • Liaising with Partners/Associates to ensure all invoices are produced accurately and on time.
  • Dealing with internal queries and ensuring prompt resolution.

Billing Assistant (12 Month FTC)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our international law firm client for a Billing Assistant join their London office on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. This role would suit someone who has previous administrative experience, who is looking to gain more experience in a billing role and who is keen to develop their understanding of law firm operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process in the team, liaising with fee earners and PAs to ensure the accurate and timely processing of all invoices.

Key Responsibilities of the Billing Assistant (12 Month FTC)
  • Managing the billing process and systems in conjunction with the Accounts team and members of the IP team
  • Liaising with Partners / Associates to ensure all invoices are produced accurately and on time
  • Liaising with the PAs to ensure invoices are distributed to clients in a timely manner, including working with the PAs to manage external client queries
  • Dealing with internal queries and working in conjuction with the relevant individuals at the firm to ensure issues are dealt with promptly
  • Liaising directly with the fee earners to understand the individual needs of clients and any impact this may have on the billing process
  • Filing of all billing-related documentation
