My client is seeking a Bicycle Workshop Mechanic to work within a school environment.

Working with Key Stage 3 & 4 students to support life skills and BTEC qualifications.

You must have an interest in the role and a love of working with bikes and young pupils who need support within the workshops to develop their academic and practical skills.

If you have worked in a bike shop or are a bicycle specialist interested in working in schools.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Diagnose and identify problems for accurate service and repair.
• Carry out all types of service at Balfe's, including safety, general and full services within time allocated bookings.
• Maintain high product knowledge and knowledge of supplier brands.
• Use repair tools and provide guidance on any repair.
• Work safely and efficiently and adhere to all school policies and procedures relating to health and safety.
• Work with students in small groups and support them.

Qualifications & Skills

• 1+ years experience as a mechanic within a professional high‑paced environment or in a school support position.
• Ability to work within a team and take instruction.
• Experience supporting children with learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Comfortable working with challenging behaviour.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students.
• Key Stage 3 – 4 experience.
• 5 days a week and able to commit to a contract.
