A healthcare concern in the UK is seeking a Bereavement Midwife for a part-time, fixed term role to provide leadership and support in their bereavement service. This position involves offering comprehensive care to women and families experiencing the loss of a baby, working closely with midwives and other healthcare professionals. Ideal candidates will possess relevant clinical qualifications and demonstrate expertise in pregnancy bereavement, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
This is an exciting opportunity for a fixed term, part-time position to work alongside the current Bereavement Midwife to support and develop the bereavement service. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and have overall responsibility for the provision of care, support and practical advice to women and their families following the loss of their baby through late miscarriage/TOP, stillbirth, or neonatal death. Working closely alongside the current Bereavement Midwife, labour ward manager and core midwives, the post holder will act as an expert resource in pregnancy bereavement, be a positive role model and will provide sound professional knowledge and leadership to all members of the multidisciplinary team within the maternity service. A high standard of care will be maintained using up-to-date evidence based practice for this specific client group. The post holder will also provide statistical data for local and national reports.
