Job summary

A healthcare service provider is seeking a Workshop / Bench Engineer to repair, service, and maintain wheelchairs. The role requires background in mechanical or electrical engineering and good communication skills. You will conduct repairs and maintain records while ensuring adherence to policies. The ideal candidate will be organized and capable of fault finding, with training provided in wheelchair engineering. This full-time position is based in Welwyn Garden City with a move to Bedford in early 2026.

Qualifications

• Background and experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
• Full Driving Licence (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Provide a workshop-based engineering role repairing and maintaining wheelchairs.
• Conduct repairs, servicing, and maintenance as directed.
• Ensure infection control policy is followed.
• Maintain a professional approach in all aspects of the role.
