Overview

Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start (ASAP). Location: Stockport (Secondary School). Contract: Long-term. Agency: Aspire People.

Aspire People are currently working with a secondary school in Stockport to recruit an experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. This is a long-term opportunity supporting students with challenging behaviour and additional needs.

Note: The school is not accessible by public transport, therefore access to a car is essential.

The Role
  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour, either 1:1 or in small groups
  • Implementing and consistently following the school's behaviour policy
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged in learning and regulate behaviour
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
  • Providing a calm, firm, and positive presence in the classroom and around school
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience working with challenging behaviour (school, PRU, alternative provision, care, or youth work experience considered)
  • Confident in behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Able to start immediately
  • DBS registered on the Update Service (essential for immediate start)
  • Able to provide references covering the last 2 years
  • Reliable, resilient, and consistent in approach
  • Access to a car due to school location
Desirable
  • Degree in Psychology, Criminology, Youth Studies, or a related field
  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
  • Background in SEN, SEMH, or pastoral support
