A local educational service is seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant in Essex. This full-time, long-term role involves supporting students who face challenges in school. The ideal candidate will maintain a calm presence and assist pupils with their emotional and educational needs. Experience in youth work, mentoring, and a passion for making a difference in students' lives are beneficial. Some young people walk into school carrying more than books - they carry pressure, frustration, worry, or things they don't quite have the words for. And sometimes that comes out as behaviour that looks "difficult," but really, it’s a call for support.
We’re working with a secondary school in Havering who are looking for someone who genuinely gets this - someone who doesn’t take behaviour personally, who listens first, and who knows that trust is built slowly and with consistency.
This role would suit someone who wants to be that steady person a student can turn to when things feel overwhelming.
