The Opportunity: Behaviour Support Worker/Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

This is a full-time, long-term position commencing ASAP, supporting a dynamic and ambitious secondary school in the Bradford area. The role is not just about classroom support; it's about being a pillar of strength and consistency for students who require specialised behavioural and academic intervention. The successful applicant will play a crucial part in helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build self-esteem, and achieve their full potential. Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour.
  • A minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement specific behaviour intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide in‑class and small‑group academic support to raise attainment.
  • Monitor and accurately record student progress, achievements, and incidents.
  • Liaise effectively with class teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff regarding student welfare.
  • De‑escalate challenging situations and manage classroom disruptions calmly and professionally.
  • Promote a positive and safe learning environment, upholding the school's behaviour policy.
  • Support students during non‑lesson times, including breaks and lunch, ensuring supervision.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of differentiated learning resources.
  • Foster independent learning skills and resilience in students.
  • Attend and actively contribute to relevant staff meetings and training sessions.
