Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in the M24 area that are seeking a calm, resilient and motivated Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to cover scheduled staff absencies in the Spring Term 2. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and develop positive behaviours in a safe and nurturing environment.

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
  • Support pupils in managing behaviour, emotions and social interactions
  • Implement behaviour support plans and strategies consistently
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, pastoral staff and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and model appropriate social skills
  • Support inclusion within the classroom and wider school environment
  • Record and report on pupil progress and behaviour as required
  • Experience working with children with behavioural, emotional or additional needs (school or similar setting)
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
  • Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
