Job Title Banking and Corporate Functions Portfolio Lead, Strategic Procurement

Strategic Procurement in the Global Procurement and Vendor Management team (GPVM) is responsible for the ongoing Sourcing, Category Management, Supplier Relationship and Contract Management of circa €5bn of external third‑party expenditure. The team collaborates across the Bank to drive innovation, maximise value opportunities, improve performance and risk management and also manages all commercial aspects of contracts to protect value by minimising risk of commercial loss, through negating commercial disputes.

As Portfolio Lead you will be a high‑performing manager looking to use expertise to focus on business and supplier engagement, people development, delivery against objectives and projects, and process improvements.

Your key responsibilities
  • Engage with wider business areas, functions and suppliers to develop value‑led, joint strategic account plans, product, and service roadmaps ensuring that maximum value is being driven from the sourcing process along with developing supplier relationships and collaborating with suppliers to identify and drive innovation
  • Manage a team of professional Category Managers, Supplier Relationship Managers and Contract Managers
  • Lead development of supplier strategies with a view to communicating a clear and collective vision
  • Oversee contract management for suppliers within your portfolio, ensuring risk is managed, commercial value is delivered and protected with continuous improvement opportunities implemented throughout the contract lifecycle
Your skills and experience
  • Experience in Financial Services is preferable. In‑depth understanding of management / service delivery from third parties and experience leading global strategic supplier management relationships with organisations with high levels of complexity. Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrable team player with strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Strategic agility necessary to create competitive and breakthrough strategies
  • Strong sourcing, contract management and governance focus with excellent negotiation skills. Professional certification beneficial (Association for Contract Management (ACCMI), Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or similar), good knowledge of contract law (United Kingdom, Germany, United States and / or international)
