A leading healthcare provider seeks caring individuals to join their team in Surbiton to support individuals with mental health conditions. This role involves providing essential care, participating in ward rounds, and supporting residents’ personal hygiene and daily activities. You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with mental health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.
The shift hours can vary between 7.5 -10 hours a day, including nights and weekends.
1a Upper Brighton Road is a nine bed, mixed gender community based home. The people who are supported at 1a Upper Brighton Road have severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be seen as challenging. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems.
People may come to 1a Upper Brighton Road as part of their care pathway, either stepping down after a time in hospital or moving from their community placement or the family home because they require more structured care and support.
Our aim is to provide a home in the heart of the local community, which promotes social inclusion through meaningful community engagement. Residents are supported to develop social networks and engage in a range of activities to live purposeful lives.

We deliver support with dignity and respect, achieve personalised outcomes and help people to develop constructive ways of communicating through new skills and behaviours.
