We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Onley, a Category C Prison located in Rugby.

Job summary

Bank hours, with some weekdays and weekend shifts. Weekday shifts 07:30am–6:30pm, weekend 8am–6pm. Salary £21.76 per hour (£2,176 a year, 2176 weekdays, £23.61 weekends).

Main duties

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding quality, patient‑centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are kept to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring SOPs are followed to a high orderly standard.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, involving anything from the timely administration of medicines to analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
  • Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of health‑care professionals.

Qualifications & experience
  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
  • Ideally, experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (not essential)
