Job description
Overview

The Laundry Services Department remove soiled linen to be washed and replaced with fresh linen from the laundry at Liverpool University Hospitals. Staff in Laundry may be required to work in any of the buildings/sites/departments/wards/clinics serviced by LUH and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and sort all foul linen from wards and departments.
  • Wash all linen in appropriate machines as per instructions for each specific type.
  • Dry all washed linen in appropriate machine.
  • Press, fold and pack all linen using appropriate equipment.
  • Operate as part of a team when directed Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Keep floors and equipment clean at all times, regularly sweeping floors and removing lint from machines.
  • Reporting of faults in equipment to the Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Ensure that personal conduct and hygiene are of the highest standard whilst on the hospital premises.
  • Notify supervisor or other relevant staff of faulty equipment, building/equipment repairs, maintenance requirements, and requests for personal protective equipment/light equipment.
  • Prepare and deliver stock to wards, as per stock sheets on a top up basis and record what has been issued.
