About The Role

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for an experienced and passionate Bank Healthcare Assistant to join our award-winning team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bed service providing high quality care across 6 specialised units supporting residents with varying complex care as well as providing a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.

What do you need?
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience working in Care (essential)
  • Experience working with adults that present with complex needs including challenging behaviours and mental health needs
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families
  • A caring and empathetic approach to residents and their visitors
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
What hours will you work?

Day Shift: 07.45 to 19.45 (12-hour shift)

Night Shift: 19.45 to 07.45 (12-hour shift)

What will you be doing?

Supporting all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes and social activities

  • Observe resident progress against planned goals and report changes in the residents’ condition or care needs
  • Helping residents to remain as independent as possible
  • Respecting residents right of choice, privacy and dignity at all times
  • Communicate effectively with other staff and members of the team
Please Note

PLEASE NOTE — Due to our training programme, we require all Bank employees to attend a 5-day induction prior to starting employment. This induction will be paid for and takes place Monday to Friday 09.30 to 16.30. If you are working another full-time role, please take this into account when applying to the position as this induction is mandatory.

About Us

Cornerstone Healthcare provide specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.

Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.

We currently have 4 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, Mytchett and Bristol.
