Job Title: Locum Pharmacist

Banding: 7 / 8a

Location: Brighton

Start: January 2025

Duration: Until End March 2025

Rate: £28–£37

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Locum Pharmacist to join our team in Brighton. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential pharmaceutical care to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Surgical Assessment Unit, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the dispensing of medications
  • Conducting medication reviews
  • Providing clinical advice to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participating in ward rounds
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines
  • Overseeing the safe storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Providing training and support to junior staff

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPHC
  • Recent acute hospital experience, particularly in a surgical setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of pharmacotherapy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in conducting medication reviews and providing clinical advice
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices in pharmacy
