Job description
Overview

Fixed Term Contract - 12 months

37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an advanced wound care podiatrist to cover a 12 month employment break in support of the podiatry department and acute foot multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will deliver specialist foot care as part of the MDT at the Royal Free Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Join the acute foot MDT comprising diabetes, vascular, infectious diseases and podiatry to treat complex and acute foot conditions.
  • Treat and triage patients into defined clinical pathways both internally and externally.
  • Apply advanced wound care techniques as part of regular care.
  • Demonstrate Trust values and responsibilities of the job description and person specification.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Post registration experience in diabetes, vascular disease and other acute foot conditions.
  • Ability to cope with clinical emergencies and manage stress in a busy environment.
  • High level understanding of clinical governance, audit, risk management, safeguarding, duty of candour and evidence-based practice.
  • Current UK professional registration (NHS context) and related podiatry qualifications as listed in the original person specification.
Desirable/Additional Skills
  • Evidence of study toward masters level qualification and non-medical prescribing qualification.
  • Experience at band 6 level or above in an acute hospital setting with high risk caseload.
  • Multidisciplinary and interagency working experience; teaching to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Core podiatry skills, wound management, NICE Diabetes guidelines familiarity, clinical governance and audit experience.
