Overview

A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. BHRUT is looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the position of the Lead Nurse. The role involves overall responsibility for the direction and development of the Breast nurse service at BHRUT.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Breast Care Nurses and offer clinical expertise, advice and skills to ensure high standards of care. • Represent the Trust at regional and national Breast Cancer meetings. • Provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, both inpatient and outpatient, throughout their care pathway.

Professional Development

For those who may not yet fully meet the criteria, the role is available as a developmental post at Band 7, with a structured training, academic and professional development pathway designed to enable progression to Band 8a. The post holder will work as an integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team within Barking Havering and Redbridge University Trust.

Trust Information

The Trust operates from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. It has two busy emergency departments, a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch and Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. The Longitudinal support and community services are available 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
