Do you have an interest in Psychosis? Do you want to make a real difference in someone's recovery? Then working with the Early Intervention in Psychosis Service could be the perfect role for you.

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service's overall aim is to support and minimize the debilitating effects of having a psychotic illness. We work with service users aged 16-35 experiencing first episode psychosis (FEP) for up to three years. We operate on an assertive outreach model with a flexible, creative, and proactive approach to engaging service users and promoting their recovery.

The core features of the EIP model are based on NICE guidance for young people and adults for psychosis and schizophrenia (2014) and the new national standards for EIP (2016).

EIP has a strong culture of multidisciplinary team working within a supportive environment. You will receive ongoing supervision, in-house development and training, annual appraisal, and opportunities for further skill development and progression. The care coordinator role involves delivering EIP-specific interventions such as behavioural family therapy (full training provided) and supporting carers.

We are currently seeking MH nurses, OTs, and SWs with a professional registration (e.g., NMC/HCPC) interested in joining one of our EIP teams as care coordinators.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the specialist community Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, responsible for care coordination of a defined caseload and delivering NICE-guided clinical interventions.

The role involves working across three sites in the city and liaising with local agencies, inpatient and specialist services, social care, and community and urgent care teams.
