Job description

Job Title: Band 6 or Band 7 - Adult Acute Inpatient Speech and Language Therapist

Banding: Band 6 or Band 7

Location: Penybont

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months

Rate: £25–£35 per hour

Working hours: Part-time or Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Acute Inpatient Speech and Language Therapist to join our client's team in Penybont. This role is ideal for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist passionate about providing high-quality care to patients with stroke rehabilitation needs, general acute stroke, and general medicine conditions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patients’ recovery and improving their quality of life.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess, diagnose, and treat adults with speech, language, and communication difficulties resulting from stroke and other acute medical conditions.
  2. Develop and implement personalised treatment plans.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  4. Provide education and support to patients and their families.
  5. Maintain accurate patient records.
  6. Participate in case conferences.
  7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of speech and language therapy services.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Relevant degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  2. HCPC registration.
  3. Previous experience in stroke rehabilitation and general acute stroke/gen med settings.
  4. Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
