Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Band 6 Locum Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Peace Children’s Centre in Watford. This role involves providing assessment and therapy to children aged 2.5 years and up, focusing on various speech and language needs. You will play a crucial role in improving communication skills for children with social referrals, speech referrals, social communication challenges, language delays, and voice issues.
What your responsibilities will be for this Speech and Language Therapist role?
As a Band 6 Locum Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist you will conduct initial assessments for children referred for speech and language therapy, establishing individualized treatment plans based on their specific needs. You will schedule follow-up appointments at weekly intervals, typically ranging from 4 to 10 sessions depending on the reason for referral. You will finalize all necessary reports and documentation at the end of each day, ensuring that notes and summaries are accurately updated. You will discharge children from your workload once they are ready, scheduling a final appointment to complete reporting and ensure continuity of care. You will utilize the Herts NDrive for accessing templates, guides, and other resources essential for your role. You will collaborate with other team members and administrative staff to ensure a smooth workflow and timely communication.
