A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a pharmacy technician trainee for a 2-year fixed-term training contract. This role involves comprehensive in-house training and distance learning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and IT skills, and the ability to work well under pressure, while gaining a level 3 pharmacy technician qualification. A Vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 2 year fixed term training contract leading to a level 3 pharmacy technician qualification, after which the successful candidate will become a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
The trainee will undertake distance learning and participate in a comprehensive in-house training programme provided by the team, with rotation through the different areas within Pharmacy. Apprentices spend a minimum of 6 hours per week of their working hours completing classroom-based learning, in addition to on-the-job training.
The trainee will undertake a 2 year comprehensive training and educational programme while working towards gaining the pharmacy technician qualification, enabling registration with the GPhC on successful completion and practice as a qualified pharmacy technician within the United Kingdom.
Working hours are 37.5 per week, inclusive of weekend and late duty hours, on a rotational basis. The candidate will be expected to cover a bank holiday shift once each year and will complete rotations across the Trust sites. Annual leave entitlement will be as per Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.
The successful candidate must be dynamic, self-motivated, willing to work hard, learn from a multidisciplinary team, and be a team player with proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Excellent communication and IT skills, attention to detail, and the ability to travel between sites are essential.
Trainees are expected to work towards the attached job description and should not be expected to perform the full duties of the role until competencies are signed off.
