Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities team at Solihull Hospital as a Deputy Housekeeping & Portering Manager. The Facilities team at Solihull is a fast paced, dynamic team that supports the clinical team and the clinical strategy at various points. The priority in this role is ensuring the facilities team deliver excellent patient care and experience. Ensuring support is given to the Facilities Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Portering departments, and to ensure the highest standards in cleanliness are delivered to the Hospital, in line with the national cleaning standards 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  • Excellent Leadership qualities - supporting the leadership of a large diverse workforce, showing care and compassionate leadership qualities.
  • Operational Leadership skills - Delivering an excellent service from our Portering team, and Housekeeping team, keeping our patients at the forefront of what we do.
  • Understanding and supporting with HR procedures, such as Sickness management and people related issues.
  • Excellent Communication at all levels - communicating with our facilities team, and networking within the wider facilities team to ensure standardised practices and best practices are adopted and delivered.
  • Supporting with the deliverance of sustainable finance plans, cost improvements and tendering schemes.
