Are you looking for a new exciting career within the NHS? Are you patient focussed and want to deliver high quality dental care? We are seeking enthusiastic, hard working dental nurses to join the Community Dental Nursing Team.

We currently have a vacancy for a Band 4 Dental Nurse:

15.0 hours / 0.4 WTE – Substantive. Working days to be Friday and 1 additional day to be confirmed. Based at the Dental Outreach Centre, Birmingham City Centre.

Working flexibly within the dental team to provide high quality care to a wide spectrum of patients across localities within the Dental Service, based at Dental Outreach Centre, Birmingham City Centre, but also to support additional external sites as required including Birmingham Dental Hospital (BDH) and Community Dental Service (CDS)

Dental Nurses will be expected to work flexibly across the Dental Division.

  • To provide chair side assistance to clinicians within the dental service.
  • To carry out clerical and administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinic/department.

Maintain a high standard of patient care and confidentiality within all dental clinics throughout the service.

To prepare and monitor patients for and during their dental treatment, providing pre and post operative instructions as required.

To undertake the general care of the surgery including dental equipment/instruments (medical devices) and arrange any necessary repairs as required.

To ensure medical emergency drugs and equipment are available and up to date.

To provide chair side assistance and postoperative instructions during general anaesthetic and exodontia sessions as required.

To provide oral health education to patients as required by the clinician

To assist the Senior Dental Nurse in the smooth running of the Dental service.

To support and assist clinicians including all student disciplines.

To support and supervise all apprentice nurses, undergraduate groups.
