Job description
Overview

To deliver effectively, as part of a team and individually where applicable, specific Ophthalmic clinical assessments including assessment of visual acuity, intraocular pressure, visual fields, ophthalmic imaging and OCT testing. This will be at a diagnostic clinic setting.

The post holder will be required to have understanding of basic ophthalmic terminology and history taking; training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
  • Work in the ophthalmic department at Royal Free hospital as part of the Royal Free London ophthalmology service, seeing patients with ophthalmology conditions including medical retina and glaucoma.
  • Carry out ophthalmic technical and imaging procedures including OCT, visual fields, visual acuity assessment and intraocular pressure checks.
  • Full training will be provided; previous experience in ophthalmology is advantageous but not essential.
  • May be required to work at ophthalmic clinics in other hospitals within the Trust.
