We are looking for a Band 3 Assistant Technical Officer to join the Cardio Respiratory unit community team at Royal Liverpool Hospital, Liverpool. The role will support the Cardiorespiratory Department in delivering high standard Cardiac Physiological service and patient care.

Main Duties

The post holder will:

  • Undertake a range of clinical physiology investigations, including recording ECGs, fitting and removal of ambulatory monitoring devices.
  • Assist in stock control of consumables used in clinical physiology.
  • Ensure safe use of departmental equipment and recognise and confirm accuracy of reported equipment faults, documenting and correcting them as necessary.
  • Maintain clean and tidy procedure environments.
  • Assist with maintenance of local risk management policies.

Qualifications & Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • GCSE in Maths, English and Science Grade C or above or equivalent work‑based experience.
  • Good communication, organisational skills, ability to work to deadlines, and under pressure in an emotive environment.
  • Commitment to completing work tasks at a high standard and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience as an ATO.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Competency in Electrocardiography procedures and Spirometry.
  • Enrolled Member of SCST.
