Description

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Baker on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.

The baker is responsible for preparing the various bakery menu items according to the provided recipes and photos and in compliance with the culinary partners guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • The baker be assigned a station in the bakery to prepare all bread, bakery and specific pastry items for the vessel. He/she be assigned to the day shift or night shift, depending on operational needs.
  • Assists with the transportation of food items from the main stores to the bakery when assigned.
  • Duties include the cleaning and sanitizing of their working area and working utensils following the United States Public Health rules and regulations and all times.
  • Will be assigned occasionally in an early standby in the bakery for USPH purposes.
  • Is aware of and/or acquires the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, to assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.
  • Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
  • Languages: Fluent English.
  • Education: High school degree or related. Culinary training mandatory.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 years in a similar capacity in a luxury culinary environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Not required but preferred.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • C1D visa mandatory for all positions.
