A leading charity organization in the United Kingdom seeks two Awareness Raising Volunteers to support local events in Luton and Milton Keynes. The role involves helping to raise awareness about dementia by attending various community events and establishing connections with organizations. Ideal candidates should enjoy public engagement, possess strong communication skills, and be available to travel independently. The positions offer flexibility and aim to promote vital community support services effectively.
If you’d like to support your local community by helping to ensure that people who are worried about or affected by dementia are aware of the support and advice services we offer, we have just the role for you!
You’ll support local events, hold information stands, and display leaflets in a variety of venues and locations highly visible in your community, such as libraries and GP surgeries. You’ll make sure the information publicised in your community is up to date and accurate. You’ll also establish connections with local organisations and community groups to help achieve widespread awareness of the support we offer. As a representative of Alzheimer's Society, we will provide you with branded clothing, and you may also have the opportunity included in event pictures to showcase the Society work in the local media.
We are looking for two enthusiastic Awareness Raising Volunteers – one to support activities across Luton and one to support activities across Milton Keynes. Please state which area you are interested in when submitting your application. The roles are community-based and do not have a fixed location. Volunteers will attend a variety of events within either Luton or Milton Keynes, depending on the area they apply for. Events may vary each time, so volunteers must be able to travel independently across their chosen area. Events can be anything from a couple of hours, to half or full days.
Minimum age – 16 years old
This is a flexible volunteer role which is carried out within your local area and on various days and times to suit your availability.
