Overview

Exciting Opportunity: Automotive Prepper / Trainee Alloy Wheel Repairer. Join a family-run Bodyshop Team Dedicated to Quality and Growth. If you are passionate about cars and eager to kick-start your career in automotive repairs, this role offers on-the-job training, the chance to learn a specialised craft in an Accident Repair workshop environment, and clear pathways to develop your skills into a professional alloy wheel repair expert with formal IMI and Industry recognised qualifications. Based in Epsom, Surrey.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with vehicle preparation, cleaning, and minor repairs to prime vehicles for painting and finishing
  • Receive comprehensive training in alloy wheel refurbishment and repair techniques
  • Support the team in maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in the workshop
  • Gain hands-on experience in a busy, dynamic environment dedicated to excellence in vehicle presentation
Required Skills
  • A strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop setting
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods
Nice to Have Skills
  • Previous experience in automotive prep, valeting, or similar roles
  • Some familiarity with vehicle maintenance or repair
  • Basic understanding of vehicle painting or bodywork is a plus but not essential
Preferred Education & Experience
  • No formal qualifications required; on-the-job training provided
  • Ideal candidates are those who are enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to develop a skilled craft from the ground up
Other Requirements
  • A valid Driving Licence is preferred. On site parking available
  • Willingness to learn and progress within the automotive repair industry
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with no weekend work offered
  • Company benefits include a competitive hourly rate (£16 - £16.50 for skilled or junior workers, or minimum wage for those new to the trade), a company car scheme, 22 days holidays plus birthday and bank holidays, and onsite parking
  • Role based in Epsom, Surrey
