In-House Sales Representative – Automotive Aftermarket (Lighting)

Location: Lincolnshire, IL (Hybrid – Onsite + Remote)
Travel: 25–40% Nationwide
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Compensation: $70,000–$100,000 base + 10–15% bonus

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced In-House Sales Representative to support national sales growth for a well-established automotive lighting manufacturer and distributor. This hybrid role combines account management, sales analytics, pricing, forecasting, rep agency coordination, and customer-facing travel.

This is an ideal opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys a 50/50 blend of relationship-driven selling and data-driven strategy, including customer visits, trade shows, and executive-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow existing automotive aftermarket accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and SKU expansion
  • Act as the primary liaison for national sales rep agencies, setting expectations and driving accountability
  • Prepare annual pricing updates while protecting margin targets
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts, performance tracking, and trend analysis
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly sales reports with actionable insights
  • Conduct customer visits nationwide and present new products
  • Represent the company at major industry trade shows and customer events (Las Vegas, February & June shows)
  • Coordinate booth setup, product displays, and post-event follow-up
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Purchasing, and Operations on sales initiatives and product launches
  • Document meeting notes and action items within 48 hours
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of automotive aftermarket sales experience (automotive lighting strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience managing or coordinating national sales rep agencies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate sales data into strategy
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.), and forecasting tools
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to travel 25–40% nationwide
  • Confident, self-motivated professional comfortable being the face of the company
