Qualifications

Overview

Our Manchester office is looking for an experienced, professional and enthusiastic Qualified Senior Associate to join our audit team. Applicants must be either ACA or ACCA qualified and be able to display a commercially minded and organised approach to client work.


You will become a key part of a growing team, which provides a wide range of audit, advisory and accounting services to a huge range of diverse clients including but not limited to landed estates, charities, owner-managed businesses and FCA regulated entities.



Responsibilities


  • Project manage and drive forwards the audit and accounting process, including liaising directly with senior individuals in clients\' finance teams.

  • Get actively involved in every aspect of the audit process, taking ownership of planning, fieldwork, and the completion on audit engagements, working closely with managers and partners.

  • Have the opportunity to get involved in the direction and overall running of the team. There may also be opportunities to work on ad hoc projects e.g. department or firm wide working groups and client advisory work.

The Team

The Audit team within the Manchester office comprises over 40 members of staff. There is a real focus on development within the team, with the aim being for our people to develop their careers long term within the firm.



Clients are varied in nature with the opportunity to work on AIM listed organisations, complex groups with overseas links, Owner Managed Businesses and charities and not for profit organisations.



The Office

Our Manchester office is home to 6 partners and over 110 staff. Our modern, purpose-built office space on John Dalton Street has been designed to provide a working space that is conducive to team collaboration and agile working.



Qualifications and Skills


  • ACA/ACCA qualified

  • Audit experience, including planning and completion

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Client focused with commerciality awareness

  • Computer experience: Excel, Word and ideally CCH accounts and audit automation

  • Good technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting and auditing standards

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work on multiple jobs at once

  • Ability to work in a pressured environment

  • Proactive nature and enjoys working as part of a team

  • Although not a pre-requisite, it would be beneficial if you had:

  • Driving licence and ability to travel to client premises

  • Experience of consolidated accounts

  • Experience of IFRS

  • A 35-hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)
