Job description

We are recruiting for an Accounts & Audit Semi Senior to join a successful, independent accountancy practice that is looking to add to its dynamic team. The role supports delivery of bookkeeping, payroll, tax and accounting and audit services to a diverse client portfolio. The audit element is approximately 20‑30 % and the role offers increasing scope with experience. Responsibilities
  • Support year‑end accounts production and liaise with clients as required.
  • Work on audits within a small team, including planning, fieldwork and completion.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients.
  • Process and manage client payrolls, including statutory returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns and financial statements.
  • Prepare self‑assessment tax returns and assist with MTD for clients moving into this area.
  • Assist with corporation tax computation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
  • Provide ad‑hoc support to senior team members.
Qualifications
  • Ideally part‑qualified ACA / ACCA / AAT; QBE candidates will be considered.
  • Minimum of two years audit experience within a UK accountancy practice environment.
  • Previous experience of planning and completing audits.
  • Self‑driven, results‑oriented with a desire to learn and develop.
  • Interested in supporting trainees with their training and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, ideally with Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and CCH; must also be competent in Word and Excel.
  • UK driving licence and vehicle to travel to client premises.
