Overview

Are you passionate about patient care? Is your superpower communication? We have an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated, enthusiastic Band 5 Audiologist to join the Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust Audiology service. You will be based at Broomfield Hospital, but will also be expected to travel to other sites. The role involves working in a busy but supportive environment, closely supporting ENT clinics and providing services on the acute hospital site and peripheral clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, programme and carry out rehabilitation care for older children and adults, using hearing aid technology.
  • Direct referral assessment and fitting of a wide range of hearing aids (Oticon, Siemens, Phonak, Danalogic, etc.).
  • Paediatric hearing assessment.
  • Hearing aid repair and reassessment – including advice on suitable alternative treatment programmes.
  • Provision of first line hearing therapy support.
  • Carry out specialised technical procedures such as paediatric testing or balance assessment using complex diagnostic equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements

The post requires the ability to provide diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology to adults and school-aged children, on both hospital sites and peripheral clinics, with supervision where appropriate. The successful candidate will work closely with ENT clinics and travel to other sites as needed.
