A prestigious national library in London seeks an Audio Project Cataloguer to help preserve and access sound recordings through the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project. An Audio Project Cataloguer is required to work at the British Library on the preservation and access project Unlocking Our Sound Heritage. The project aims to digitally preserve almost half a million sound recordings and make them easier to discover and access.
The ideal candidate will have broad experience of cataloguing, strong data handling skills, and a good understanding of audio formats. Routine work will include cataloguing audio recordings and editing metadata.
We are looking for someone with knowledge that complements the sound recording collections being preserved and described. Practical experience and background will be taken into account, and working knowledge of a foreign language will be considered an asset.
