Position Overview

Opportunity for a Newly Qualified Social Worker to complete their ASYE within Cardiff County Council, working within the Children’s remit.

Relocation & Visa

Cardiff offers a relocation package and visa sponsorship; however, sponsorship is only available to candidates already living in the UK. Please do not apply if you are living abroad.

Job Purpose
  • Assist people to resolve major difficulties in their lives and enhance their independence and coping skills.
  • Work within current legislation and Council policy, procedures and practice to assess, commission and review services, including planned interventions, for a specific client group.
  • Operate within the statutory guidance and policy/procedural framework to protect those who are at risk or vulnerable.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of workable systems to ensure quality of service across the city and identify people particularly at risk.
  • Collaborate positively with colleagues in the statutory and independent sector to ensure an appropriate multi‑agency approach and empower clients to speak for themselves.
