SimplyBD, founded by nuclear engineer Alix Johnstone-Morfoisse, is seeking a Business Development Associate to join our growing consultancy. We're not just looking for another contractor - we want to find the right person who shares our passion for the nuclear industry and can become a trusted partner in our mission.
If you're an experienced BD professional with nuclear or regulated industry expertise who values independence while being part of something bigger, this could be the perfect partnership.
We're offering an associate arrangement (25 hours/week) with complete autonomy over how and when you work. You'll partner with Alix to drive growth for SimplyBD and our clients, leveraging your nuclear/regulated industry experience to build meaningful relationships and win new business.
This isn't a typical contractor role - you'll be a strategic partner with input into how we grow the business. Occasional industry events (1-2 times per quarter) keep you connected to the sector, while most work is done remotely with full flexibility.
Non‑negotiable requirements:
Alix has built SimplyBD from zero to 5 retainer clients in 2+ years while completing her PhD in Nuclear Physics. She understands both the technical and commercial sides of the nuclear industry and has the relationships and credibility to open doors. You'll be working with someone who gets it.
In your first 6 months, you'll help us secure 2‑3 new clients while building your own network within our growing business. This is about quality relationships and strategic wins, not volume metrics.
