Our client is now looking to recruit for an Assistant Technician to join their team.
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000
Location: Horley with travel to Bristol
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8am-5pm, Friday: 8am-4pm
Responsibilities
- Assist with the inspection, kitting, assembly and calibration of the Vector Extensometer product range.
- Perform incoming parts inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Use the company ERP/MRP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O) to process production orders.
- Assemble and build Vector products in line with company procedures (including repair work as required).
- Assist with calibration of completed products, recording data in line with company standards.
- Pack finished products for on-time customer shipments.
- Maintain an organised and tidy working environment.
- Record and update production data accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the group.
- Comply with Health & Safety policies and company quality procedures.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualifications (essential):
- Apprentice-trained, NVQ/HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering (or relevant discipline).
- Recognised qualification or documented training in electronic product assembly or similar.
Experience (desirable):
- Previous experience in a high-quality manufacturing environment.
- Close tolerance assembly skills and use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Competence with small hand tools.
- Experience with optical assemblies, ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft D365), or QMS systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in maintaining technical records and working knowledge of Health & Safety best practice.
Other Desirable Attributes
- Hobbies or interests in RC models, 3D printing, DIY mechanics or similar technical activities.
