Assistant Station Manager

As the Assistant Station Manager with a key focus on our Ffestiniog Pumped Hydro Power Station, you'll play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and innovation in renewable energy generation.

What You Will Do
  • Provide visible leadership at the Ffestiniog Pumped Hydro generation asset
  • Manage daily operations and engage with stakeholders to deliver business plan objectives
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, technical requirements, and quality systems
  • Drive station performance in reliability, financial control, and commercial delivery
  • Coordinate activities on site and provide services to the System Operator
  • Develop and implement business objectives and KPIs aligned with First Hydro targets
  • Manage and improve Health & Safety culture and performance on site
What You Will Bring To The Role
  • An experienced professional with a degree in engineering or equivalent
  • A skilled leader with a track record in power plant operations and maintenance
  • A strong problem‑solving and analytical skill set
  • Knowledge of Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation
  • A communicator who can adapt to various stakeholders, from staff to senior management
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • An adaptable team player with the ability to learn and handle complex situations
  • Ideally, a Chartered Membership of an engineering institution and formal management qualifications
Job Based In

Ffestiniog, North Wales – On‑site role

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and have been a resident in the UK for the last 5 years to apply for this role as it will be subject to National Security Vetting.
