About the role

Assistant Service Manager for Family Court Advisers in the South Yorkshire and Humberside area. Hybrid working – on-site at Sheffield or Hull, with flexibility for remote work.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Family Court Advisers, ensuring high‑quality reflective case supervision.
  • Safeguard and protect the welfare of children, maintaining safeguarding standards across the team.
  • Champion the values and core practice framework "Together with Children and Families" at all levels.
  • Promote wellbeing and resilience for staff, maintain morale and support a diverse workforce.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, displaying emotional intelligence when interacting with children and colleagues.
Key qualifications & experience
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Organisational, resilient and experienced in supervising, coaching or mentoring social workers.
  • Strong communicator – oral and written – with emotional intelligence, particularly when working with children.
  • Prior experience managing a team of professional social workers.
