We’re hiring a Project Controls Assistant Engineer to support our team in London with cost control, financial reporting, and data analysis on a variety of exciting projects. An Assistant Quantity Surveyor would make the perfect candidate as they will possess the skills required and our project controls team works very closely to the Quantity Surveying team and this will allow this person to receive more training and exposure to Quantity Surveying.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and supporting cross-functional teams. Someone with minimal experience in a Project controls-related role, finance, or as an assistant Quantity Surveyor who wants to gain more experience in the civil engineering industry would be a good fit for this role.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Supporting the procurement and administration of contracts and subcontracts
  • Assisting with cost tracking, valuations, payment applications, and change control
  • Learning how to administer key forms of contract such as NEC and JCT
  • Working closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to meet project milestones
  • Helping monitor project costs, risks, and cash flow forecasting
What we’re looking for:
  • A degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Some work experience in an assistant Quantity Surveyor, project controls or cost management role
  • Enthusiasm to develop commercially and technically in a supportive team
  • Strong attention to detail, Excel confidence, and a proactive mindset
