Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Location: Portsmouth, England

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team on a major Coastal project in Portsmouth on a permanent basis. Our client is an industry leader within the Civil Engineering space and has worked on large-scale projects across the UK.

Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing site activities, ensuring all work aligns with project plans and specifications.
2. Supporting the Quantity Surveyor and Senior Surveyors in managing subcontractor and labour packages.
3. Managing and identifying opportunities and risks within the contract.
4. Producing both client and internal forecasts.
5. Building and managing strong relationships with subcontractors, internal teams, and clients.

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Trainee, Graduate, or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within the Construction or Infrastructure sector.
• Ability to collaborate with site teams, contractors, and external parties to discuss project progress and resolve issues.
• Confident communication skills to influence and engage with suppliers and contractors.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts is advantageous.
