Salary: £28,613 p/a

Hours: Full Time, Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours, 8-4

The Hospital: Cygnet Hospital Stevenage is a mental health hospital consisting of six wards (male low and medium secure, two male PICU’s, one female acute and one male acute). We achieved an overall ‘Good’ rating from a recent CQC inspection and we strive to work towards an outstanding rating.

The Role

We are currently looking to employ a full time Assistant Psychologist to join our Psychology Department at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. The successful candidate will join a team comprised of qualified, trainee, assistant and honorary psychologists and will work across PICU and/or Acute wards.

The post holder will be working closely with and will be supervised weekly by a qualified psychologist, who will also be the post holder’s line manager. We are seeking a strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the team with;

• Administering and reporting psychometric assessments/outcome measures
• Developing clinical and risk formulations
• Developing and implementing care plans for psychological interventions
• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual/group treatment programmes
• Supporting with the development of Positive Behaviour Support plans
• Administration, audit, research and service development
• Contribute to the training and support of staff

The Assistant Psychologist will need to be able to work independently, safely, and ethically within the limits agreed with their supervisor.
