The role

As an Assistant Project Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our project delivery team, supporting the planning and coordination of key defence and engineering programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in project management, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to projects that protect communities and support national security.

Day-to-day, you’ll be:

  • Collating and updating planning information to support the Project Planner
  • Producing management reports from project schedules to agreed timelines
  • Ensuring accuracy of all received and issued data
  • Updating and distributing scheduling outputs weekly
  • Assisting in the creation of schedules under guidance from the Senior Project Planner

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Assistant Project Planner
  • Understanding of project control and monitoring techniques
  • Familiarity with planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly
