Workingunder guidance of SOPs, ICH-GCP and COSHH, the main duties for staff workingin this role are:
To maintain an assigned portfolioof studies within the designated clinical trials pharmacy (LGI, St JamesHospital or Chapel Allerton Hospital) including managing and responding toany pharmacy queries received for studies within the portfolio.
To host and support monitoringvisits with external clinical research associates as requested by theSponsor, ensuring that all pharmacy activity is compliant with protocolrequirements. Report back on findings to the pharmacy team
To coordinate the maintenance ofall documentation required in pharmacy site files, including archivingarrangements.
To act as a primary point ofcontact for pharmacy, liaising with research assistants/research nurseswithin LTHT, co-ordinating the timely implementation of approved trialprotocols to ensure safe operation of the trials in line with ICH-GCPguidelines
To assist with the collection andcollation of trial data and completion of pharmacy trial documentation inaccordance with trial protocols.
To undertake regularauditing/monitoring of the pharmacy files to ensure that research complieswith the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research.
To assist the Pharmacy Techniciansin the preparation of Trials audits which are undertaken by externalagencies, ensuring that everything required is made available to the auditorswhen they arrive on site
Assist the Pharmacy Technicians in the day-to-dayoperations of the pharmacy department helping other team members who are newto the department as required
Thepost holder will also provide dispensary support to the pharmacy clinicaltrials team, performing all tasks relating to the management ofInvestigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) including receipt, dispensing,returns, quarantine and destruction
AtLTHT we provide pharmacy services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The postholder will be required to work weekends, Bank Holidays and late nights on arostered basis.
