Job Overview

Southern Hospice Group offers specialist palliative care through three hospices: Martlets adult hospice in Hove, St Barnabas House adult hospice in Worthing and Chestnut Tree House children's hospice near Arundel in Sussex. Our Shops and Distribution Centres provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service.

Essential Criteria

• Maximise the contribution for the shop through sales from all donated and new goods.
• Ensure the shop delivers high standards of customer service.
• Capture Gift Aid at every opportunity to maximise income.
• Assist the manager with sales promotions, stock generation activities and income from new goods.
• Encourage the work of volunteers and co‑ordinate the volunteers work and rota.
• Assist the Manager in recruitment, induction, training, and development of volunteers.
• Partner the Manager in creating good team morale and care of the volunteers.
• Ensure the shop operates in line with retail policies and procedures.
• Manage expenses, banking and cash reconciliation as required.
