Join the London Transport Museum, a world-class cultural and heritage attraction in Central London as Assistant Manager, delivering outstanding experiences to thousands of visitors every day.

The role

As an experienced Assistant Manager, you will play a key part in the smooth day to day running of a busy visitor attraction, leading teams across galleries, ticketing, welcome and information services on a full time temporary basis. This role requires commitment to a fixed rota, including working some weekends.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Duty Manager, overseeing daily operations including opening and closing checks and staff briefings
  • Taking responsibility as Duty Cashier when required, managing daily takings, cashing up procedures and issuing refunds
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and procedures, managing operational situations and taking responsibility for staff, visitors and volunteers on site
  • Overseeing roster management, preparing rotas and ensuring appropriate resourcing for daily operations
  • Acting as the designated person in charge during some weekend shifts in the absence of senior management
How you’ll dazzle us

You are a confident and hands on manager with proven customer focused experience in gallery or heritage environments. You bring strong leadership skills, excellent organisation and the ability to motivate teams in a fast paced public setting. Clear communication is second nature to you, and you can juggle multiple priorities while keeping standards high. You are happy to work to a fixed rota, including some weekend days, and can commit to key interview, training and shadowing dates. A DBS check is required.
