Assistant Manager Counter Lead – Trowbridge, GB
The Counter Lead is responsible for supporting the brand in driving sales turnover and market share through consistently remaining consumer focused. They ensure a credible brand image, maximise sales, maintain retail standards, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Reflect a credible and professional brand image to all internal and external consumers at all times.
- Maximise sales through selling, providing excellent service and retail standards.
- Contribute to efficiencies by adhering to store, brand and company procedures and guidelines.
- Understand daily and weekly targets and maintain awareness of additional sales avenues such as eventing, omni‑channel and digital channels.
- Keep up to date with competitor activities and missed opportunities.
- Effectively use social media to protect and enhance the brand image and drive business.
- Deliver the brand strategy, ensuring an effective local plan is executed.
- Plan and implement local marketing and event initiatives aligned to retailer activity.
- Deliver excellence in service execution, continually improving service levels, creating a zero‑consumer‑complaints mindset and a surprise‑and‑delight culture.
- Act as an ambassador for the brand, leading by example and ensuring brand values are represented and lived.
- Manage all refunds and complaints in line with company guidelines, consulting the area manager when appropriate.
- Use digital tools to keep knowledge current.
- Deliver a consumer recruitment and retention strategy to grow a loyal consumer base.
- Develop up‑to‑date product knowledge to provide an industry‑leading experience.
Operations
- Plan to ensure the delivery of excellent standards in product, housekeeping, displays, messaging, and pricing.
- Review retail standards daily, ensuring they meet required standards.
- Ensure deliveries, stock movements and associated administration are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure all auditable processes and administration are actioned to company guidelines, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Fulfil all information requests accurately and within set deadlines.
- Minimise stock loss by implementing and following all security policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain a safe working environment for consumers, adhering to company and retailer policies.
- Ensure all health and safety responsibilities meet a minimum overall grading of "Acceptable" during audits.
Commerciality
- Manage daily replenishment, taking appropriate action when required.
- Maximise sales performance by utilising all commercial reports before making decisions.
- Plan and deliver the visual merchandising layout, ensuring guidelines are followed and timeframes met.
- Identify stock package issues and take corrective action, informing the area manager when out of direct control.
- Effectively manage all promotions and discounts in line with company guidelines.
- Identify trends and suggest enhancements to product performance.
Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑paced retail and/or consumer‑facing environment.
- Ability to drive self‑development.
- Commercial understanding and awareness of industry.
- Effective communication, organisation and prioritisation skills.
